Successful participation in the DGMP 2023
Our postdoc Dr. Abdelkhalek Hammi and our PhD student Lena Heuchel successfully represented our research group at the annual meeting of the German Society for Medical Physics (DGMP) in Magdeburg.
In his contribution, Dr. Abdelkhalek Hammi investigated the effects of different radiotherapy methods on the immune system of brain tumor patients.
Lena Heuchel presented the results of a Monte Carlo validation of the field zone method, a method used for decades to calculate the dose for whole-body irradiation using the translational method. In addition, she conducted a survey in advance, as part of the "Large Field Irradiation Techniques" working group, on the current clinical approach to whole-body irradiation, whole-skin irradiation, and craniospinal axis irradiation, and presented the results at the working group meeting at the DGMP annual meeting.
The DGMP was founded in 1969 in Stuttgart, Germany, and since then has been a non-profit association dedicated to the advancement of science in the field of medical physics. Once a year, the annual meeting of the DGMP is held, where innovative research in the field of medical physics is presented and discussed.
